The Valley Below

The geographical reference is Salem, OR on Myers and Perrydale Roads off HWY 22. I allowed myself to have a bit of license with this subject. I added a tree to the right to help accentuate the yellow adjacent neighbor of color with the darker roof value. This decision evoked depth and dimensionality to the piece. Notice the triadic palette of orangey/burnt Sienna/orangey along with green and violet. The orangey values can be seen at top of barn roof and at tree. I love the way the road at front leads the viewers eye in and through the composition--along the road into a lighted area and down through the two architectural features into passage beyond.
