Roy Inman

Roy Inman’s “checkered photography career” as he whimsically refers to it has taken him to the western Pacific on board America’s first nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise, to the White House, to a natural child birth, to Aspen, to Fashion Week in New York and of course to the streets of his hometown, Kansas City. His work has been published in Time, The New York Times, MIDWEST LIVING, Better Homes and Gardens, the Kansas City Star and many calendars and books. His favorite thing to photograph is what is in front of the camera at the moment. He is the complete opposite of the specialist. He shoots everything: photojournalism, lifestyle, interiors, food, fashion, and has a particular obsession with trains and old train stations. In fact, he spent five years and created more than 70,000 images documenting the restoration of Kansas City’s Union Station, which he likes to remind people, is the second-largest rail terminal in America, after Grand Central Terminal in New York. Some of his photography and a blog discussing about his experiences can be seen at: www.fireeatingpressphotographer.blogspot.com ###
